This style is simple, but so stylish! I pride myself on using the highest quality findings and beads. The colored beads are called charlolette hex beads, and I’ve added the tiniest little thai sterling silver spacers that are hand stamped with tiny little intricate details. I use soft flex wire for stringing and I use sterling silver chain that I oxidize by myself, then polish it off to make the chain detail show up even more. I use the chain and a lobster claw clasp so that the length is adjustable by about 1.5 inches, or a toggle sterling closure The focal bead is a lampwork glass bead that I make. Lampwork beads are created by melting glass rods over an oxygen/propane torch that is about 1500 degrees. After the bead is created it goes immediately into a digital kiln that is programmed to slowly cool the beads, which allows a nice cool, so that the glass bonds and is molecularly strong and solid. Each bead is then cleaned with a dremel tool to get the bead release (which prevents the glass from sticking to the metal rod). It’s a long process to say the least! I’ve worked on a bead for up to 25 minutes before! An average bead takes about 5-7 minutes! The bead has been wire wrapped on sterling wire and I use sterling thai spacers to finish the pendant.
